Carbon offsetting entails buying carbon credits for each tonne of carbon we are unable to reduce. These pay for an equivalent tonne of carbon to be reduced somewhere else in the world.

Our chosen CarbonNeutral project neutralises the methane emissions from abandoned mines, ensuring that these harmful gases do not reach the atmosphere (methane has a global warming potential 23 times as harmful as CO2).

Within a year of signing up to this carbon offsetting project, we had achieved a 25% reduction in our carbon emissions and set the following challenging objectives.
