Application of Policy

1. This policy applies to all Employees and Management of PDQ Direct.

2. It will be the responsibility of the Management Team to ensure that all their staff are aware of this policy and to take action when breaches of the policy occur.

3. All employees will:

  • Co-operate with any measures introduced to promote equality of opportunity and anti-discrimination.
  • Report any suspected discriminatory acts or practices.
  • Not induce or attempt to induce others to behave in a discriminatory manner.
  • Not victimise anyone as a result of them having reported or provided evidence of discrimination.
  • Not harass, abuse or intimidate others on account of their race, gender etc.
  • Not attempt to discourage job applicants from applying for, or taking up a post.

4. Harassment or discriminatory behaviour by employees in its many forms, either direct or indirect, is contrary to this policy and any employees contravening the policy and or its aims will be dealt with under the disciplinary procedure, which could lead to dismissal. It should be noted that under Employment Law, an employee who commits acts of discrimination or harassment may find themselves personally liable for payment of damages as well as the Company being liable. We also have a duty to protect our own staff against harassment and discriminatory behaviour by customers. Complaints against our customers will be investigated in a sensitive manner but we reserve the right to discontinue servicing any customer where such a complaint is upheld.

5. Recruitment, Training and Development and Redundancies will be carried out in a way that reflects the requirements and aims of this policy.

6. The HR Department will monitor the application of the policy and amend it as required in the light of changing legislative requirements. Complaints from employees or customers about the application of the policy will be directed to the HR Department in the first instance.

7. Independent Contractors working for and on behalf of PDQ Direct will also be required to comply with the policy.
